Micah Parsons Shockingly Requests a Trade From the Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons, Jerry Jones reveals Philadelphia Eagles offer.

One of the biggest stories in the National Football League has a shocking update. Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons requested a trade from the team on Friday afternoon. Parsons posted a statement to his social media outlining his thought process.

Part of his statement was: “I wanted to be here. I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmetI have made a tough decision. I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.” Will Parsons get his way and be sent out of town?

How Did the Parsons Situation Get So Bad?

The Dallas Cowboys are known for making players wait to receive their money. For example, Quarterback Dak Prescott signed his contract on the first Sunday of the 2024 regular season. There was reporting in recent days stating that there was no guarantee that Parsons and the team would agree on a contract before the start of the regular season.

The star defender, to his credit, has done everything right this offseason. He has remained quiet about his contract and showed up to training camp. Unfortunately, he decided the best way to proceed was to request a trade.

Final Thoughts

Parsons requesting a trade after being upset regarding the lack of a contract extension is nothing new. He is not the only high-profile player to request a trade this offseason. Owner/General Manager Jerry Jones’ way of doing business may have cost him his team’s best player. For a team that loves drama, this will not be welcome news for the Dallas Cowboys.
