The Charlotte Hornets and veteran Center Mason Plumlee agreed on a one-year $3.6 million contract Monday evening. He is coming off a solid season with a Phoenix Suns team that disappointed. He averaged 4.5 points and 6.1 boards during the regular season. Plumlee is no stranger to the Hornets. He played for the team for two seasons. Will Plumlee’s reunion with the Charlotte Hornets be a successful one?
Charlotte Hornets Season Outlook
Plumlee comes to a Hornets team undergoing a rebuild. Charlotte acquired Guard Colin Sexton yesterday. The veteran big man will play alongside Guard LaMelo Ball and Charlotte’s top two draft picks, Kon Knueppel and Ryan Kalkbrenner. Plumlee will provide a veteran presence to help mentor Kalkbrener. His years of experience will prove invaluable to a young player like Kalkbrenner.
Final Thoughts
Plumlee will be viewed as a depth piece for a Charlotte Hornets team not expected to compete during the 2025-26 regular season. They are looking to get more production for their young players, and the veteran big man will be looking to help the team speed up its rebuild.
