Chicago Cubs Center Fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong had a game he won’t soon forget Friday afternoon at home against the cross-town rival Chicago White Sox. He finished 4-of-5 with 6 RBI. PCW has been great at the plate in 2025. Friday’s performance was the latest example of that.
He is seventh in the league in home runs and third in RBI. Crow-Armstrong has also played a great center field for the Cubs. He is seventh in the league in Defensive Runs Scored. Will Crow-Armstrong be able to maintain his high level of play for the Chicago Cubs?
Chicago Cubs Season Summary
It has been a strong start to the regular season for the Cubs. They are leading the National League Central with a 26-19 record. Chicago’s offense has been strong. They are ninth in the league in batting average, third in home runs, and tied for the league lead in runs scored. Crow-Armstrong and Right Fielder Kyle Tucker have been Chicago’s best offensive players in 2025.
Chicago’s pitching staff has been mediocre. They are 18th in ERA, 19th in WHIP, and 19th in opposing batting average. Starting Pitcher Matthew Boyd is 18th in the league in ERA. With such a strong offense, the Chicago Cubs can overcome a middling pitching staff.
Final Thoughts
Crow-Armstrong and the Cubs return to the diamond Saturday afternoon for the middle game of their three-game set with the Chicago White Sox. If Crow-Armstrong can continue playing at this level, the sky is the limit for the Cubs in 2025.
