The offense of the Chicago Cubs has been historic through its first 25 games of the regular season. They have hit 37 home runs this season and notched 35 stolen bases. They are the first team in league history to have at least 35 of each through 25 games in a season.

Chicago is riding high following a walk-off win last night against the Los Angeles Dodgers. A single by Left Fielder Ian Happ helped the Chicago Cubs clinch an 11-10 win in the bottom of the 10th. Will Chicago’s offense be able to keep playing at such a high level?

Chicago Cubs Season Summary

It has been a strong start to the season for the Cubs. They are leading the National League Central at 15-10. Chicago’s offense has been stellar to begin the year. They are third in batting average, third in home runs, and leading the league in runs scored. They are also leading the league in stolen bases. Right Field Kyle Tucker has gotten off to a tremendous start. He is sixth in the league in home runs, first in RBI, and fifth in OPS.

Chicago’s pitching staff has been mediocre. They are 19th in ERA, 22nd in opposing batting average, and 23rd in WHIP. Starting Pitcher Shota Imanaga has paced the pitching staff. He is 17th in the league in ERA.

Final Thoughts

Chicago returns to the diamond tonight for the final game of their two-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Cubs need their offense to continue carrying the load until the pitching can come around.
