Chicago White Sox Center Fielder Luis Robert Jr. did not mince words regarding his performance to begin the 2025 regular season. Here is what he had to say regarding his play: “Right now as my season is going, I do not think anyone is going to take a chance on me.” His comments were regarding whether a team will look to acquire him at the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline.
The center fielder has not fared well at the plate this season. He is hitting .186 with 5 home runs and 17 RBI. One of the few positives from Robert Jr.’s season is the fact that he is leading the league in stolen bases. Will the outfielder lift his level of play to become an attractive trade target this summer?

Robert Jr. made his debut with the Chicago White Sox in 2020 and took the league by storm. He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting and won a Gold Glove. He also had solid seasons from 2021-2023. In 2023, he was named to his lone MLB All-Star Game and won a Silver Slugger Award. He also finished 12th in American League MVP voting. Final Thoughts
In another lost season for the Chicago White Sox, Robert Jr. is one of the few pieces another team would be interested in acquiring at the trade deadline. If he can get on track, he can be a player the rest of Major League Baseball is excited about.
