The Cleveland Browns drafted Quarterback Dillon Gabriel with the No. 94 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Whether it is fair or not, this pick is just as much about Shedeur Sanders as it is about Gabriel. Sanders is experiencing a shocking slide down the draft board. Gabriel had a solid final season at the University of Oregon. Will he experience success with the Cleveland Browns?
Cleveland Browns Draft Gabriel No. 94 Overall
The Browns were reportedly eyeing a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. They waited until late in the 3rd round to draft a player for the position. With the uncertainty surrounding Deshaun Watson, Gabriel will give the team some depth at the position.
The Cleveland Browns also signed veteran Quarterback Joe Flacco earlier this offseason. Gabriel will come into the NFL as experienced as any player. He played for six seasons in college with three different schools. This also means he may not have as much room to grow as a lesser-experienced quarterback. He enters the NFL much closer to his ceiling.
Final Thoughts
It is not a surprise the Cleveland Browns drafted a quarterback. It is more about the quarterback they decided to select. Gabriel will give the Browns quarterback room some depth. He will look to bring his wealth of experience starting at the college level to the National Football League.
