In a season of highs and lows for the Colorado Buffaloes, wide receiver Omarion Miller has emerged as a consistent bright spot and one of the most productive pass-catchers in college football. While the team’s overall record has been disappointing, Miller’s individual performance has been nothing short of dominant, as he quietly turns heads and climbs national player rankings.

Colorado Buffaloes Omarion Miller Stepping Up in a Big Way

With the departure of Colorado’s top four receivers from the 2024 season—Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, Will Sheppard, and Jimmy Horn Jr.—a massive void was left in the passing game. Miller, a third-year player and former four-star recruit from Louisiana, has seized the opportunity and established himself as the team’s go-to target.

His breakout 2025 campaign has been impressive. So far this season, Miller has tallied 34 receptions for 652 yards and seven touchdowns. This production is a significant leap from his first two seasons combined, where he recorded 21 catches for 450 yards and two scores before a leg injury cut his 2024 season short. Now fully healthy, he is showcasing the talent that made him a highly-touted prospect.

A Standout Performance and Rising Rankings

Miller’s recent performance against West Virginia put his skills on full display. Despite the Buffaloes’ 29-22 loss, he was the game’s leading receiver, hauling in six catches for a season-high 131 yards and a touchdown. This standout game caused a significant jump in his national profile.

According to On3’s impact rankings, Miller skyrocketed from the No. 85 wide receiver to No. 55, making him the third-biggest riser of Week 11. His advanced stats back up the hype. His 2.73 yards per route run is among the top 10 in the Power Four conferences, and his 11.8 yards per target is just outside the top 12. He is proving to be not just productive but also incredibly efficient, even with a changing quarterback situation in Boulder.

A Bright Future in Boulder

While the 3-7 Buffaloes will not be bowl-eligible this year, Miller’s development is a major positive for the program. He has proven to be a reliable and explosive playmaker who can hold his own against top competition. As the team looks to finish the season strong and build toward 2026, Miller has solidified his role as a cornerstone of the offense and a player to watch for the remainder of the season and beyond.
