Daulton Varsho of the Toronto Blue Jays had a big day against the Texas Rangers. He went 3-of-3 with a home run, a double, and drove in two runs. A player known mainly for his glove, Varsho has shown that he can drive the ball out of the ballpark this season. He has tallied 13 home runs and was a key factor in today’s 14-2 win. Wins like this allow for the Blue Jays’ pitchers to get an easy day, which is always a plus. The Blue Jays have a big lead in the AL East division and are looking like they will make it to the postseason with ease.
Daulton Varsho Proves Toronto Has Depth
Varsho profiles as a bottom-of-the-order hitter. But today, everyone in the Blue Jays lineup was producing. They got four RBI from Davis Schneider, two from Varsho, five from Myles Straw, and more. Teams that win the World Series always have players on their roster who aren’t the stars but can come up in the big moments. That is exactly what Schneider, Varsho, and Straw did. Toronto fans should be hopeful that the depth of players can do this in October.
The Blue Jays have a real chance to do damage in the postseason with their rotation. Pitchers like Kevin Gausman, Shane Bieber, and others. Although they won’t have an easy path. They are up big in the AL East, but the American League has many good teams that are going to challenge the Blue Jays. With their rotation additions, Toronto will be a force to be reckoned with.
Last Thoughts
There is much to like about Varsho and the value he brings to the team. It is not often that a player is a Gold Glove contender every year and can hit over 10 home runs. The Blue Jays will be going places this postseason.
