San Diego Padres Right Fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. had a game to remember this afternoon on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He finished 4-of-5 with an RBI. He also had 3 runs scored, 1 double, and 1 stolen base. It was the third time in his career that Tatis Jr. had more hits, doubles, runs scored, and stolen bases than the team he faced. His three such games are tied with Heinie Zimmerman for the most by any player in the modern era.
Arizona had 3 hits as a team, scored two runs, and did not have any stolen bases or doubles on the ledger. It has been a strong season for the star right fielder both at the plate and in the field. He is hitting .277 with 13 home runs and 31 RBI. He is also second in the league at his position in DWAR. Will Tatis Jr. continue having a strong 2025 season?

Tatis Jr. has been one of the best hitters in the league since debuting with the San Diego Padres in 2019. He finished third in Rookie of the Year voting, has back-to-back top-five finishes in NL MVP voting, is a two-time Silver Slugger, two-time All-Star, and the winner of a Platinum Glove. Following a tough few seasons for the perennial all-star, 2025 has been exactly what he needs.
Final Thoughts
Tatis Jr. and the Padres return to the diamond tomorrow night when they travel to Los Angeles to begin a four-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers. If the star right fielder can continue playing this well, 2025 can be a season to remember in San Diego.
