NBA Opening Night for 2025-26
Shams Charania reported on X, formerly Twitter, “Opening Night of the 2025-26 NBA season on NBC on Oct. 21, per sources: Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers.”Charania’s post gathered mixed reviews. One user responded, “Should’ve been Lakers at Mavericks.” Another user commented, “SGA starting the season off with an easy win and 45/6/4.”
NBA Christmas Day for 2025-26
Shams Charania followed up with a post on X, “NBA Christmas Day 2025 on ABC and ESPN, per sources: Cleveland Cavaliers at New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets at LA Lakers, Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets.”Charania’s post generated mixed opinions. One user asked, “Is this real?” Another user stated, “NFL now owns Xmas day.”
Final Thoughts
Shams Charania’s releases of the NBA Opening Night and Christmas Day schedules are fair enough. It’s 2025 and not 2016, but the LeBron James and Stephen Curry matchup should be exciting. James, 40, is 14-13 in the regular season and 11-17 in the postseason against Curry, 37.
As for Christmas Day, the Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks game is must-see. Klay Thompson will be in his second season as a Maverick, the Cooper Flagg era will begin in Dallas, and Stephen Curry will have a chance to steal the show in Thompson’s return to the Bay Area.
