Tough Break for the Bills: DeWayne Carter Out for 2025 Season with Torn Achilles. This is news that no Bill’s fan wants to hear. Buffalo’s promising young defensive tackle, DeWayne Carter, has been ruled out for the entire 2025 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon. NFL insider Jordan Schultz broke the story, and it’s a tough pill to swallow for a team with high hopes this year.
Dewayne Carter’s Season-Ending Injury
Last year, at the age of 24, Carter was selected in the 2024 NFL Draft in the third round out of Duke. During his rookie year, Carter showcased his skills in just over seven games with 14 tackles and one pass deflection. He only had three starts, too! So, the expectations were, of course, high for this upcoming season, and many were thinking he would become an integral part of the Bills’ defensive front.
However, with one step forward showcasing Carter’s skills, his injury is taking him two steps back as he must begin his new journey of recovery. Carter’s injury is a HUGE blow to the Bills and their depth on the defensive front. The team is expected to place Carter on injured reserve in the coming days and will likely look to bring in another player to fill the void.
With Super Bowl aspirations, Buffalo will need to rally and adjust quickly to maintain a strong defense. This is not just a hit to the Bill’s Mafia, but for football fans everywhere. It serves as a reminder of how one pass, one play, or even one tackle can alter the entire season’s course.
Final Thoughts
Carter’s talent is undeniable, and his absence will be felt not just by the Bills but also by anyone who enjoys watching the new, young talent hone their skills. Here’s to wishing DeWayne Carter a speedy and successful recovery. Whether you’re part of Bills Mafia or just a fan of good football, we’ll all be rooting for him to come back stronger than ever.
