LeBron James has made headlines again, but not for professional basketball reasons. Instead, James, 40, and his legal team reportedly sent cease-and-desist letters to alleged AI abusers over AI-generated videos depicting him as pregnant, as caressing Diddy, etc. Read on for the latest about the cease-and-desist letters.

LeBron James, Legal Team’s Cease-and-Desist Letters

LeBron James’ legal team has been working hard to produce and issue cease-and-desist letters to alleged AI abusers and their AI-generated videos, which were created using a tool called Interlink AI, according to OpenCourt Basketball.

The alleged abusers’ videos have flooded Instagram and Discord. The videos extended to depictions of James in prison, on his knees, and as a homeless person. James isn’t homeless, at-risk, or a convicted criminal. And, even if James was one of those three types, compassion should be shown, like when former NBA star Delonte West was down on his luck, begged for money, and got arrested and charged on multiple occasions.

Legal Team’s Warning

LeBron James has taken a drastic legal step with the help of his legal team. James’ legal team has reportedly sent multiple cease-and-desist letters to creators creating disturbing and false videos of the 40-year-old. 404Media reported, “The creators of an AI tool and Discord community that allowed people to create AI videos of NBA stars say that it got a cease-and-desist letter from lawyers representing LeBron James.”

The legal move serves as a warning to the general public. The legal move’s purpose has already resulted in Instagram removing several high-traffic accounts connected to offensive content at the time of writing.

Final Thoughts

LeBron James and his legal team made a drastic legal move for the right reasons. AI-generated videos of public figures have been an issue for quite some time. However, the videos of James have been completely false, fake, and defamatory. James and his legal team’s firm stance on the company can lead to platform changes.
