Los Angeles Dodgers Third Baseman Max Muncy had a game to remember this afternoon at home against the Washington Nationals. He finished with a whopping 7 RBI in LA’s 13-7 win. He got LA on the board with a grand slam in the bottom of the 6th inning. He added a three-run shot in the bottom of the 7th.
This was a historic day for Muncy. After having another 7 RBI performance on May 31 against the New York Yankees, the 22-day gap is the fewest days between 7+ RBI performances since Ralph Kiner did so 14 days apart in 1951. It has been a decent season for the Dodgers star. He is hitting .242 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI. Will this performance help the third baseman get back on track?
Max Muncy Career Summary
Muncy has been an integral piece to the Dodgers lineup over the last few seasons. He is a two-time MLB All-Star(2019, 2021) and has three top-15 finishes in NL MVP voting(2018, 2019, 2021). He also helped LA win a World Series in 2020 and 2024.
Final Thoughts
Muncy and the Dodgers return to the diamond Tuesday on the road to begin a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies. After a terrible start to the year, the two-time all-star has seemingly found his form as of late. If he can continue swinging the bat this well, an already stacked lineup will become more formidable.
