According to Head Coach Mike McDaniel, Quinn Ewers is to remain the quarterback in Miami despite the loss at home to the Cincinnati Bengals 45-21. McDaniel said that Ewers earned the top spot after benching Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Ewers was a seventh-round draft pick, and he made his first NFL start on Sunday. Ewers completed 20 of 30 passes for 260 yards with two interceptions. The Miami Dolphins kept the score close in the first half of the game before getting blown out 21-0 in the second half of the game.

After the game, McDaniel was asked if Ewers would remain the starting quarterback position and said that he would review the game and tape, but is planning on allowing him to continue his role at the starting position.

McDaniel made the quarterback change from Tagovailoa to Ewers after last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night football. Miami needed more “convicted play” from the quarterback position, and Ewers gave the team its best chance to win.

Ewers said he felt “calm” ahead of his first start and appreciated the support he received from his teammates and coaches throughout the week. Ewers also mentioned after the ugly loss that it is hard to win a football game with three turnovers.

Miami Dolphins To Regroup With Ewers

The Miami Dolphins will regroup after the horrible loss to the Bengals, falling to 6-9 on the season. The Dolphins will play Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday. As for Dolphins fans, they are hoping to see a better game out of their rookie quarterback and team as a whole.

The Miami Dolphins are trying to head into the offseason on a positive note after a disastrous season that has been filled with injuries and disappointment from Tagovailoa. The Dolphins will have to make some major decisions once the season is over and find a new general manager as well.According to Head Coach Mike McDaniel, Quinn Ewers is to remain the quarterback in Miami despite the loss at home to the Cincinnati Bengals 45-21.
