Cleveland Browns Defensive End Myles Garett has doubled down on his desire to be traded from the organization this offseason. He made his trade demand earlier this offseason after spending the first eight seasons of his career with the franchise.
Browns General Manager Andrew Berry has been consistent about his desire to not trade Garrett. When he addressed the media at the 2025 NFL Combine, Barry said the star defensive end is “unmovable.” Berry has been clear about his intention to sign Garrett to a long-term contract extension. His agent “slammed the door shut” on any future negotiations though. How will this situation resolve itself?
Myles Garrett Career Summary
Garrett is considered an older player but is as good as ever. He just finished second in the NFL in sacks and was third in the Defensive Player of the Year voting. He was also named the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year and is a four-time All-Pro selection.
Garrett is also in the midst of one of the best stretches in league history with four straight 14+ sack seasons. He has also put together six consecutive seasons with 10+ sacks. The perennial All-Pro, if the Cleveland Browns decide to listen to trade offers, will be a hot commodity this spring. He has linked to teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions. All 31 teams will want a pass rusher like Garrett for 2025 and beyond.
Final Thoughts
It is unclear how steadfast Berry is in his desire to not trade the team’s best player. He could be looking to showcase his leverage to the 31 other teams or could maintain his stance throughout the offseason. It is only February as there are many months between now and the start of the regular season. There will seemingly be many twists and turns in the saga between the star player and the Browns.
