The New Orleans Saints re-signed veteran Tight End Juwan Johnson to a 3-year $30 million deal on Tuesday afternoon. The deal could be worth a maximum of $34.5 million and includes $21.25 million guaranteed. He is coming off the best season of his career in 2024 with New Orleans. Johnson finished with 50 receptions, 548 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns. How will Johnson play for the New Orleans Saints in 2025?
New Orleans Saints Offseason Outlook
The Saints are looking to rebound from another disappointing regular that started with playoff aspirations. A disastrous season led to the franchise cleaning house. They hired Kellen Moore as their head coach and Brandon Staley as defensive coordinator.
Moore decided to stick with Derek Carr at quarterback for the 2025 season. The new coach believes Carr will have success with New Orleans. It has been a quiet offseason for the New Orleans Saints otherwise. Their two moves were re-signing Chase Young on Monday night and acquiring Defensive Tackle Davon Godchaux from the New England Patriots earlier that same day. Johnson returns to a Saints offense with some talent. Running Back Alvin Kamara and Wide Receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed give the team a formidable unit.
Final Thoughts
Johnson will look to build upon the best season of his career in 2025. He was an important part of the team’s offense last season and will try to recreate that in the upcoming season.
