The New York Giants and Defensive Tackle Jeremiah Ledbetter agreed on a 1-year deal worth $1.75 million Friday evening. His deal reach over $2 million if incentives are met. Ledbetter is coming off the best season of his career in 2024 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had 38 tackles and 2 sacks. How will he fare in 2025 with the New York Giants?
New York Giants Offseason Outlook
New York is coming off another underwhelming regular season. They signed a few key players from the 2024 squad including Wide Receiver Darius Slayton, Quarterback Tommy DeVito, and Tight End Chris Manhertz. They also signed Jevon Holland, Defensive Tackle Roy Robertson-Harris, and Cornerback Paulson Adebo in free agency.
Ledbetter joins a New York defense that was a solid unit in 2024. He will play alongside Defensive Tackle Dexter Lawrence, Linebacker Bobby Okereke, and Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux. Their defense was eighth against the pass in 2024.
Final Thoughts
The Giants made some shrewd offseason moves but did not address the quarterback position. They are reportedly waiting on the decision of Aaron Rodgers. If he decides to sign elsewhere or retire, Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson, and Joe Flacco could be viable options. New York also has the No. 3 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft. They could decide to draft a quarterback high next month. The Giants have improved their roster this offseason. With the right quarterback, a return to the postseason could be on the horizon.
