New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson has been historic in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. He is the first player in league history to have at least 30 points and 7 assists in each of his first four playoff games in a single postseason. Brunson’s performance is a big reason the New York Knicks are up 3-1 on the Detroit Pistons.
Brunson is second in the postseason in points per game(33.3) behind only Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. Each of New York’s games against the Pistons was hanging in the balance late in the fourth quarter. Brunson, fresh off being named the NBA Clutch Player of the Year has lived up to that billing in the playoffs. Will Brunson keep playing well for a New York Knicks team eyeing a deep playoff run?

New York has leaned on its wealth of playoff experience to take a 3-1 series lead over the upstart Pistons. While Brunson has been excellent, his running mate Karl-Anthony Towns has also played well. He has had a checkered playoff past but has looked like a different player in the postseason this year. The only game he struggled in was Game 2. That was New York’s lone loss in this series.
Final Thoughts
Brunson and the New York Knicks look to close out the Pistons tonight in Game 5 in front of a raucous crowd at Madison Square Garden. If Brunson can keep playing like he has in the first four games, New York should be able to advance later today.
