New York Mets First Baseman Pete Alonso has been great in June. He has 6 home runs, 18 RBI, and two hit by pitches through eight games this month. The only other MLB players in the live-ball era to put up those numbers over any eight-game span in a single season are Jeff Bagwell in August 2000 and Reggie Jackson in June 1969.

It has been a strong regular season for the star first baseman. He is 16th in the league in batting average, 8th in home runs, leading the league in RBI, and fifth in OPS. Will Alonso keep swinging at the bat at such a high level this season?

Pete Alonso Career Summary

Alonso has been one of the best players in the league since debuting with the New York Mets in 2019. He set a rookie record with 53 home runs and was named Rookie of the Year that season. He is also a four-time MLB All-Star and has two top-10 finishes in NL MVP voting. After signing a team-friendly contract this offseason, the perennial all-star is having a great season.

Final Thoughts

Alonso will look to stay hot at the plate when the Mets begin a three-game set with the Washington Nationals this evening. He is one of the best players in the league. He has raised his level through the first few months of the 2025 regular season.
