Pittsburgh Steelers-Wide Receiver Robert Woods Agree On 1-Year Contract

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed veteran Wide Receiver Robert Woods to a one-year $2 million contract Monday evening. He is coming off the worst season of his professional career in 2024 with the Texans. He had 20 receptions and 203 receiving yards.

Woods has had a successful NFL career since he was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has played for a variety of teams including the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Tennessee Titans, and Houston Texans. Woods has 683 career receptions, 8,223 receiving yards, and 38 touchdowns. He also won Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams. Will Woods be a contributor to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025?

How Will Robert Woods Fit With the Pittsburgh Steelers?

Woods will join a Steelers receiver room with great talent. They acquired Wide Receiver DK Metcalf earlier this offseason and still have the mercurial George Pickens on their roster. The issue the Pittsburgh Steelers face in 2025 is who will be throwing these pass-catchers the ball.

Pittsburgh drafted Will Howard in the 6th round of the 2025 NFL Draft. They opted not to draft a high-profile quarterback last week. The team is still waiting on the decision of Quarterback Aaron Rodgers to sign on the dotted line to be the team’s starter in 2025.

Final Thoughts

Woods should not be expected to be a big contributor in 2025. What he can provide is stability for a Pittsburgh Steelers team with a bunch of question marks. He will be a calming presence on a team with many difficult personalities.
