The Kansas City Chiefs and star Guard Trey Smith agreed to a four-year $94 million contract with $70 million guaranteed on Tuesday afternoon. Being the highest-paid guard in league history was never expected to be Smith’s trajectory when he entered the National Football League in 2021. He was a 6th-round pick out of the University of Tennessee. He landed with a dynasty, the Kansas City Chiefs, and has turned into a tremendous player. He also helped Kansas win back-to-back Super Bowls(2023, 2024).
Final Thoughts
Bringing back Smith is a great move for the Kansas City Chiefs. He will look to provide stability for Quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the team looks to rebound from a terrible Super Bowl performance against the Philadelphia Eagles.
