Seattle Mariners Catcher Cal Raleigh has been great in the first half of the 2025 regular season. He had 5 RBI last night against the Detroit Tigers, including a grand slam and a solo home run. It was his 38th home run of the year. That is the most by a switch-hitter in a team’s first 94 games of a season. It also tied him with Mantle for the most multi-homer games in a season by a switch hitter(8). The catcher is also tied for the most multi-home run games by any player in a team’s first 94 games with Reggie Jackson.
Raleigh is one home run shy of Barry Bonds for the most home runs in a season before the All-Star break. The star catcher is the only player in league history to have 35+ home runs, 15+ homers off lefties, 8+ multi-home run games, and 3+ grand slams. He has accomplished all this before the All-Star break. Can Raleigh keep up his historic season?

Final Thoughts
Raleigh has two more games to either match or surpass Bonds’ mark for the most round-trippers in the first half of the regular season. He will look to impose his will on the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. He will then look to win the 2025 Home Run Derby. It has been a dream year for Raleigh. He will look to keep it going.
