Seattle Mariners Had a Great 3-Game Series Against the Detroit Tigers

Seattle Mariners

The Seattle Mariners are entering the All-Star break riding high. They went on the road and dominated the best team in Major League Baseball, the Detroit Tigers. Seattle outscored Detroit 35-14 over the three-game series.

Detroit has one of the league’s best pitching staffs, but they were unable to contain the offense of the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners roughed up American League all-star Casey Mize on Saturday. He surrendered six earned runs over three innings of work. Will the Seattle Mariners keep it up after the All-Star break?

Seattle Mariners Season Summary

Seattle had a strong first half of the regular season. They are in second place in the American League West(51-45). The Mariners have had a strong offense in 2025. They are 13th in the league in batting average, sixth in home runs, and eighth in runs scored. Catcher Cal Raleigh had one of the best first halves of any player in league history. He is leading the league in home runs, first in RBI, second in Slugging Percentage, and second in OPS.

Seattle’s pitching staff is mediocre. They are 16th in ERA, 16th in WHIP, and 15th in opposing batting average. Bryan Woo has led the club’s pitching staff. He is 16th in ERA, sixth in WHIP, and 11th in WHIP.

Final Thoughts

The Seattle Mariners will look to build on a great series when they return from the All-Star break. Seattle hosts the Houston Astros for a three-game series beginning on July 18. Seattle has itself in playoff position. They must keep it going over the summer.
